So I'm kind of tired of drawing Hoodie Guys?

Way back in the way-back days of Season 3, the EU LCS standings were a bit of a madhouse of ties and chaotic standings, and, as I always do, I figured "hey, why not draw that?" and kind of just half-assed the first idea that came to mind.

Such an innocent time. Krepo was still a player, Gambit was still a high-level contender, and MYM hadn't sued anyone's moms and taken their houses.

If I remember right, Reddit picked it up at the time and lots of people liked it and so I figured "okay let's do NA too" and rather than being a one-time half-assed goof (I mean I only started doing them in WEEK 7) it became A Thing.

Hoodie Guy LCS Standings are probably my most popular content by far (certainly the stuff Reddit is most likely to pay attention to) because it's consumable and I've been pretty good at visually showing the standings in new and interesting ways. But after about 3 years of doing these on-and-off... I'm bored. I'm proud of how expressive I've managed to make them, even in spite of their incredibly simplistic designs, but in the end drawing the LCS regions as Hoodie Guys means drawing the same dude over and over again twenty times in different colors, and it gets SERIOUSLY old.

A big reason why I've been very bad at keeping consistent week-by-week LCS recaps coming (besides IRL time constraints and all that jazz) is that it just got REALLY hard to motivate myself into finding a new way to draw Hoodie Guys beating the crap out of each other in new ways.

For those who don't know, I've been drawing LCS recap comics for the Oceanic league on a weekly basis as commissioned work for Riot Oceania (big thanks to those guys for helping pay my rent!). I got a chance to start afresh and do unique designs for each team avatar and all of a sudden it got fun again. And normal Hoodie Guys comics seemed even more boring to return to as a format.

So as the Summer Split rolled around I pretty much said "fuck it!", invested some time into designing some team mascots and now we're doing it this way, bitches!

Still trying to figure out how to make CLG, TSM and NV not completely suck. Those teams have so little visual iconography, it's almost ridiculous.

I'm probably hurting my chances to have the comics picked up by Reddit and losing out on a bunch of ad-money (those reddit front-page bumps can be worth as much as $20, yo!) but if I'm not having fun, then I won't be drawing ANY comics anyway so however you wanna frame it, this is the better way.
